![]() The battle field, that may be a new feature during this game, will enliven the Story Mode quite an bit. there is a very little one thing new for DBZ fans to relish if they need a brand new tale, however Atari’s compulsive need to include each playable character within the Story Mode really limits what they’ll do with it. Well, not surprisingly, Atari takes the easy answer, and Trunks uses his machine to bring the entire crew to the long run with him to help him out.įrom here, the story primarily turns into a repeat of the Buu heroic tale with slight alterations here and there. it is a what-if situation involving Majin Buu being revived during this timeline, with all the Z Fighters dead and only Trunks to defend the world. The game’s story follows Future Trunks many years when he saved his world from the Androids and also the significantly weaker Cell. currently if the story were truly good, it may have gotten a twelve. I give it 2 bonus points for an original idea: do a what-if story rather than basing it on the same story we’ve seen a thousand times before within the TV shows and movies. I solely lament the continued absence of a full in-game transformation system as before, you pick one transformation (say, Super Saiyan 3) at the beginning of a battle, and your character will switch between that kind and their normal kind, however with nothing in between. This game will up the ante, but shut it should be to the last game. I can’t extremely fault Another Road’s fighting for being too just like its predecessor, though, as a result of there wasn’t a lot of to boost upon. The Aura Burst Guard, however, will get a touch frustrating and even low-cost, because it isn’t as simple to break as a normal Block, and pc players (who you’ll likely be fighting most of the time) use it endlessly. There are some improvements, however the only significant difference within the gameplay is that the addition of an Aura Burst Charge, that in brief upgrades your character in a distinctive way–say, by create lost health, or increasing attack power–and an Aura Burst Guard, that allows you to guard against attacks even a lot of effectively than a daily Block button. ![]() The problem, though, is that generally the fighting feels too just like the primary Shin Budokai and not enough like you are playing a brand new game. Combos are still even as tight because the last game, the real-time final moves haven’t left, and the telephoning “ping-pong” result from the last game has been upgraded to a full chasing sequence complete with finisher at the tip. The move from the PS2 to the PSP–as in Shin Budokai–doesn’t trim down any from the gameplay. ![]() That’s right, Gameplay comes initial, as it is the most important a part of any game, even DBZ games, wherever the focus tends to get on how many characters and locations they’ll jam in there. ![]() And currently the review, in bite-size categories that are simple to browse in between paragraphs of that paper you must be writing. 5 years and 5 games later, we get the foremost improved version of the fighting engine yet (along with the longest name yet) in Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai – Another Road. Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai Another Road is the one of the most popular preventing video games. The Budokai series has return a long way since the primary Budokai came onto the PlayStation 2 in 2002.

In addition to a selection of standard add-ons, each vehicle has a special weapon. There are also special joystick and button combinations you can use with the various weapons to get better performance out of them. Once these extra weapons run out of ammo, they are discarded. ![]() Your vehicle starts out with a single gun, and you can carry up to three additional weapons at a time. Pick a vehicle, customize the color (if you so choose), drive around and shoot things. If you finish each arena AND successfully complete all of the Quest goals, a new character will be unlocked. This can present conflicts with the other quest goals, as sometimes you have to retrieve items that your enemies have picked up. In fact, the round ends when the final enemy is destroyed. Just know that the third goal is always wiping out all enemy vehicles. Don’t stop to read the goals when they first come up, as you’ll get blown away. In each arena, you are presented with three goals. In Quest mode, the player must carry out a story line, visiting each arena in a pre-determined sequence (according to which team you decide to play). The specifics are a little bit different, but the goal is the same. Pick an arena and some opponents, then try to do your best to blow ’em all away. Arcade and Survival are largely the same. In the one-player game, you can choose between Arcade, Quest, or Survival mode. 12/28/2022 0 Comments Homeworld mission 3![]() Recreating notable battles from Wing Commander 3, this small introductory campaign has no base-building or resource gathering, just a fixed battle-group with limited resources. This authenticity to the source material carries through to a fistful of single-player missions. Slower escalations in hostilities, fighters with limited travel range, carriers that are nigh invulnerable to anything but torpedo-carrying bombers (with limited ammo per deployment) and frequent opportunities to disengage and withdraw. Flag Commander might share most of Homeworld's interface, but the combat has a feel all of its own. Those two elements are well represented in this total conversion mod. ![]() There's a certain low-fi charm to the Wing Commander series and its universe of small-scale dogfights and tense capital ship encounters. Flag Commander (with Secret Missions expansion) I didn't think a spaceship could look afraid until I saw over a hundred torpedoes chasing a single Klingon cruiser. Every kill earns you more money, and ships are constructed instantly in this mode, so single-unit spam is a viable strategy. Expect a lot of noise and chaos as increasingly dangerous waves of enemy ships warp into the centre of the map. While it's wildly unbalanced, it's a fun distraction and a test of just how hard you can push Homeworld Remastered. While geared towards multiplayer and skirmish, there is a basic single-player horde survival mode. What you get is a massive skirmish and multiplayer sandbox covering a swarm of factions (everything from the Dominion to the Gorn, Borg and even the goatee'd mirror-universe evil Federation) across multiple time periods, and a very customisable rule-set. Originally for classic Homeworld, Star Trek: Continuum warped over to the Remastered Collection relatively early, and has been trucking along at impulse speed ever since, with the most recent update landing in November. Universal nerd-law states that if a game featuring space battles is moddable in any way, someone is going to turn it into Star Trek. It's still being actively supported, with the most recent update (at the time of writing) being on December 16th. You can see the extensive change and features list here. It also adds some fun new variant ways to play. ![]() With this mod you can tweak difficulty levels on a per-mission basis, which helps with the nasty difficulty spikes in Homeworld's campaign. Old exploits have been closed off, and mission scripting has been polished up. While there have been several attempts at unofficial patches, this one - a huge community effort with many contributors - seems the most comprehensive, fixing old bugs, fine-tuning balance and adding new quality-of-life features in equal measure. Gearbox's official v2.0 patch addressed many of the outstanding complaints with Homeworld Remastered's balance tweaks, but it was still imperfect. This is the first port of call for anyone returning to Homeworld after a long absence, or new players wanting the best version of the game. The individual mods should have specific instructions for installation with the GOG version, but most will just ask you to unpack their mod directory to your Homeworld Remastered\HomeworldRM\DataWorkshopMODs directory, then use the built-in launcher to activate the mod. The only technical issue I've encountered is that the game's integrated mod launcher can get a little slow and potentially unstable if you've got a ton of mods installed, so stick to a handful at a time. For the sake of simplicity I'd recommend that edition, with its Workshop integration, but if you've got the GOG edition you can find most (if not all) of the mods featured below mirrored on Mod DB. While the engines of space-war haven't yet hit fever pitch, let's take a peek at what modders have done so far with the remaster.Īs with most modern releases, installing mods for Homeworld Remastered is easy, and further simplified if you have the Steam version. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement between Gearbox's Homeworld Remastered Collection and a fresh wave of interest in the upcoming sequel, modders have been returning to their old stomping grounds. Even without modern enhancements, Relic's 1999 space opera RTS is still a looker, carried by sharp ship designs, low-fi but evocative audio and some gorgeous nebula backdrops. Every other Monday, Dominic gives you a reason to dust off one of your old games and dive into its mods with Modder Superior.įew games have aged as gracefully as Homeworld. 12/28/2022 0 Comments Ldsff spencer visions of gloryIn it she relates how the Lord told her to share that he is going to cause a huge EMP ( Electromagnetic Pulse) to hit the earth which will wipe out all technology based on the use of electricity and electronics, which is just about every means of modern communication and transportation. She gave a talk at Confetti Books in Feb of 2012. I must admit I have never read anyone else talking about floods in Salt Lake as one of the signs of the last days.Īre you familiar with Denise Mendenhall, daughter of LDS author Doug Mendenhall? She lives without a veil. She said it sounds like someone watched “ Jericho” or “ Revolution” and had a bad dream. Spencer notes that there are many nuclear explosions, most caused by internal radicals, not by the foreign invaders. Now, I hate to go “out there” but I want to make a point that there are multiple claims of how the great destruction is going to come about. ![]() You’ll also find much more reference to the cosmological causes of the great destruction that is to take place before the coming of the Lord, which are barely mentioned in passing by Spencer. In there, you’ll find a description of the pillar of fire, for example, that is radically different from what Spencer describes in his book. Those who have read essays from my early years of blogging know my interest in the books of Anthony Larson, known as the Prophecy Trilogy. I am more interested in how the widespread destruction is caused and how to interpret the events from the Books of Revelation, Daniel, Joel and others. What I would like to ask about, he would not be able to answer. Although I found Spencer’s description of some of the events of the last days to be fascinating, my focus has been different. In any event, after reading Spencer’s book (it really is his even though John wrote it), you can interact directly with him on the Unblog. Having a popular blog in the LDS community can be burdensome because so many readers are at different levels of understanding. It kind of reminds me of the early days of Denver’s blog in which he was much more interactive with his readers. You can get a better feel for Spencer there by reading his contributions as he answers questions put to him by readers. With John’s recent passing, Spencer, not his real name, has contributed more to John’s blog, now maintained by others. These are just one man’s views of the Last Days. Cedar Fort’s wording on the cover that this is “one man’s astonishing account of the last days” causes me to immediately think, “Well, that’s just his interpretation.” And indeed, that’s the first warning I’m going to offer. But I am just blown away by the detail in the last two thirds of the book in his third NDE. I don’t doubt that Spencer did indeed experience the NDE’s as he described them. The spirit burned in my heart as I recognized and understood that Spencer had shared some wonderful truths with us. I had little problem with what he offered and found myself nodding my head in agreement with some of his descriptions. Like several of the reviewers, I was fascinated with the first third of the book as he describes what he learned in his first two NDEs. Visions of Glory combines two of my favorite topics – Near Death Experiences (NDEs) and the Last Days. ![]() ![]() I believe Spencer was sincere when he described what he said he saw. The negative reviews on Amazon and elsewhere declare that Spencer was deceived. Maybe by the time I finish the review it will be clearer. There’s just something strange about this book that I can’t put my finger on at the moment. I’m not going to say my review is negative, and I am going to recommend you read it, but I’m going to offer a few words of warning. Visions of Glory has also been reviewed in several places, but the negative reviews are too dismissive for me. Proof of Heaven can stand on its own, already reviewed by many people. I finished Proof of Heaven a week ago and did not feel the desire to review it as I do with this book. I had intended to review chapter three of Passing the Heavenly Gift, but that can wait. I had not intended to write this review, but could not resist because the impression to share was so strong. I hope I made it clear that I got a lot of good from the book even though I had problems with it, which I delineate below. Well, it’s good to have multiple sources to make comparisons. And I thought I was being a little harsh in my review here. Note added 6-11-13: Greg Smith has published a much more complete review on the FAIR website. 12/28/2022 0 Comments Hilti anchors for rock![]() Be aware of the other problem that happens when bolting quickly top-to-bottom. Hopefully, he meant the gel time is 20 minutes. This means you have even less time, maybe 5 minutes, before the glue stiffens enough in the mixer that you'll have trouble pumping it out. ![]() John Byrnes wrote: Is the cure time 20 minutes or the gel time? If the cure time is 20 minutes, the gel time is probably half that. If you decide to use it, I'd be interested in your experiences using the HY-70. Bumping a bolt with the rope before the glue is fully set causes the bolt to be off-plumb, and puts undesirable torque on it during a fall. Having to clip intermediates on steep routes exacerbates this issue (and slows you down too). As I've mentioned before, if the route wanders any at all and the bolts are not all on one side of your working rope, then your weighted rope can bump the bolt(s) you just glued as you rap/swing to the next placement. Hopefully, he meant the gel time is 20 minutes.īe aware of the other problem that happens when bolting quickly top-to-bottom. The contractor I mentioned in previous post regularly has surplus from large projects that he is willing to unload for next to nothing. Is the cure time 20 minutes or the gel time? If the cure time is 20 minutes, the gel time is probably half that. Other than working time I see no reason not to use it. This could be mitigated to some degree with an efficient work strategy, whereby all holes are predrilled and cleaned and then all bolts on a route are glued in one go from top to bottom. The main drawback is that cure time is extremely rapid in tropical climates (20 mins at 85 degrees F). The HY-70 is epoxy based and is specifically designed for rock. Use a two-part pure epoxy or epoxyacrylate like the Redhead Epcon A7, Hilti 500, Hilti 150, Simpson SET22 or Powers Pure 110+.Ĭashmab wrote:I called Hilti tech support and they actually recommend HY-70 over all their other mortars (even over RE-500 series) for installations in rock, and this was after I told them that the specific application was Titanium and stainless rock climbing anchors. Personally, I would never use any type of concrete to place glue-ins. It seems someone bought a case of the real stuff, also bought a case of silicone, and then returned the silicone but with the SET22 stickers on the epoxy in order to defraud Home Depot. I walked into Home Depot once and found an entire case of "SET 22"-labeled containers that were not epoxy but in fact silicone!! I called Simpson and they said they dont even make silicone and they launched an investigation. Just make sure you're actually buying epoxy. In any case, EDOT is still more than strong enough. EDOT is more of a general purpose epoxy for gluing in rebar into concrete for freeway use, where SET22 is more specific to high strength applications. Simpson's EDOT might still be grey, and I suspect it would work fine. ![]() It's no longer grey though, they changed the color to dark green. If using Simpson, use the SET-XP or SET22 (Same stuff, just different size cartridge). Maybe you are concerned with voids in limestone? My opinion is to move the bolt anyway since you can't determine how strong the rock is without X-ray vision. Also, I'm guessing it's a "binding mortar", and having used several of these, I prefer the "epoxy" glues. I say be wary of using HIT-HY 70 for the simple reason no one else has used it for rock anchors to my knowledge. I've done it the other way too(two passes), so I know. The RE-500 gels slowly enough that I can work (placements previously marked) from the bottom up, drilling/cleaning/bolting/jugging in one pass, without rushing. What they don't tell you is that it fades to an inconspicuous dull rose color after a year. The color makes it easy to see what you're doing, spot voids, etc. Some people don't like the color (hot pink) but I do. Some people think it's hard to work with because it sticks to everything (a good characteristic if you ask me). It has a solid track record as a rock bolt glue in Europe, Thailand, Cayman Brac, Brazil, etc. If you're gonna go Hilti, a good decision, I recommend the RE-500. Have you ever used glue-ins? What do you use? I've placed 500 (more?) glue-ins and have used a variety of glues over 15 years. According to Hilti it is for use with hollow base, OR SOLID, and grouted concrete. They are both very memorable songs that are compatible with the videos being put on and make us feel the response to what we’re doing. One of the other songs is Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Scarborough Fair’, which was used for the first presentation video, which was used in the first video after the development transition from the original PlayStation to PlayStation 2. “There are two songs that turned points, and this video uses Momus’s “Summer Holiday”, 1999.
